Colleen Hawking, LCSW
Colleen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received her degree from Loyola University Chicago. Colleen works with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, PTSD/trauma and grief. Prior to founding Bergeron counseling, Colleen worked as a therapist and crisis counselor in private practice, community mental health, and hospital settings. She is grounded in the CBT framework, and also integrates DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and the strengths perspective into her practice.
Colleen believes clients are their own experts and works collaboratively with them to increase self-awareness and understanding around thoughts, feelings, memories, and emotions in order to improve current and future functioning. Colleen’s goal is never to “fix” anyone, but rather use each individual and unique experience to initiate a client’s journey to health, healing, growth, and happiness. Therapy can be very intense at times so Colleen strives to create a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic space for clients of all identities.
