What can I expect from therapy?
Therapy sessions typically occur once per week and last between 50 and 55 minutes. However, depending on their immediate needs, some individuals require two sessions per week during times of crisis. During your first session, your therapist will collect your background information (such as your medical history, family background, cultural background, etc.). Typically, this first session allows you to become comfortable with your therapist and provides them with an understanding of what brought you to therapy. You will also discuss what you hope to gain from your therapy sessions.
